Vinyl versus Aluminum Soffit:

Vinyl Soffit:

* There is less noise when the wind blows.

* It is easier to find.

* It is less expensive than aluminum.

* Expands and contracts; can buckle.

* Can become brittle.

Aluminum Soffit:

* Matches aluminum fascia and gutters better than vinyl.

* Does not expand and contract.

* More expensive than vinyl.

Solid and Vented Soffit:

* Homeowners should use half solid Soffit and and half vented. 

* This allows proper airflow through the Soffit on through the vents.
